USA produced a superb performance at the Hertz Sevens in 2011 picking up the Shield beating France 19-12 in their final. For the 2011/2012 HSBC Sevens World Series their main competition has come in the form of Canada and Scotland. The Eagles have fallen to Scotland twice and are one apiece with Canada in finals football in this series so far. Head coach Al Caravelli and his team will be keen to pick up a winners’ medal over either or both of these sides when they arrive in Wellington.
USA's Cheerleaders
Between aisles 15 and 16 the 'The Eaglelites' Cheerleaders will have you up in your seats supporting USA each time the hit the field.
From midday Thursday 2nd February until 6pm Saturday 4th February you can text vote for your favourite cheerleader squad by texting* the name of the country they're supporting to 5678. E.g. USA. The three squads with the most public votes are then judged and the winning squad takes home $7,000! Plus you go in the draw to win two tickets to the 2013 Hertz Sevens.

After hosting USA in the Rugby World Cup, the Eaglelites could not pass up the opportunity to continue supporting them in their shorter rugby code. We do not profess to be any good at cheering, or dancing, but we are hoping that our fun-loving style and immense enthusiasm to partying will help win us lots of text support at the biggest party in Wellington! The Eaglelites want to do the USA 7s team proud! We will make it our mission to entice and inspire our assigned aisles to party to our routine to ‘Blow your Whistle’ and cheer loud and proud for USA! Blow your whistle ref and let the fun and games begin!
