Team Profile
Kenya love coming to Wellington and the Wellington crowd love Kenya! They won the Bowl in 2011 at the Hertz Sevens with a convincing 19-0 over Tonga, which was a fantastic result for the side. They play with passion and thrive off the crowd support. So far on the 2011/2012 circuit they have come up short in the Shield final in Dubai and South Africa, going down to Samoa and Zimbabwe. They will be looking to turn the tables in February and get their hands on the silverware again.
Kenya's Cheerleaders
Between aisles 34 and 35 the 'Part-Time Kenyans' Cheerleaders will have you up in your seats supporting Kenya each time the hit the field.
From midday Thursday 2nd February until 6pm Saturday 4th February you can text vote for your favourite cheerleader squad by texting* the name of the country they're supporting to 5678. E.g. KENYA. The three squads with the most public votes are then judged and the winning squad takes home $7,000! Plus you go in the draw to win two tickets to the 2013 Hertz Sevens.

Our team is made up of high school friends who love the African culture. As we are Kenyans trapped in Kiwi fruit salad bodies we feel that it is our duty to help the Kenyan team have their glory days in the hot Wellington sun with a winning fusion of hot steppin and a move’n and a hop’n and a jump’n.
We are committed to putting all our energy and support behind our African brothers and cheer them to VICTORY! They play with passion and thrive off crowd support so it is our mission to get everyone behind them so we can get our hands on some silverware again. FOR KENYAAA!
