Team Profile

After finishing a disappointing 10th last year in the HSBC Sevens World Series, France have stepped up a gear this season reaching the Cup final in Dubai.  They beat South Africa in the quarters, Argentina in the semi-finals before losing 29 -12 to England in their first cup final since 2005. Currently in fifth place on their way to the Hertz Sevens, the big improvers will be looking for a performance in stark contrast to their Shield loss to USA in Wellington last year.

France's Cheerleaders

Between aisles 35 and 36 the 'House of Swag' Cheerleaders will have you up in your seats supporting France each time the hit the field.

From midday Thursday 2nd February until 6pm Saturday 4th February you can text vote for your favourite cheerleader squad by texting* the name of the country they're supporting to 5678. E.g. FRANCE. The three squads with the most public votes are then judged and the winning squad takes home $7,000! Plus you go in the draw to win two tickets to the 2013 Hertz Sevens.

House of Swag!! Trying to explain what we are exactly goes a little something like this: 2 Cups of Style, a pinch of Creez (Creativity) and a dash of Fresh! We’re a band of brothers that are trying to create a movement here in the Wellington Region. Bringing our individuality to the Sevens, and celebrating the fact that with a goal in mind, and a work ethic, anything is possible!

We’re French at heart, very passionate about life and the things that are important to us. Why Not Cheer For That!?

Our dance moves are very basic, yet performed in unison and to the rhythm of the music, it elevates one to the level of S.W.A.G. Since we’ve got a whole house of it, lets show you how we get down!!

Fight! (the opposition)
Raise! (Our expectations)
Answer! (The call of greatness)
Never Give-Up! (Quitting is not an option)
Champions! (Is what we’ll be)
Excite! (The crowd!)

In short, just shouting the words “Fight France Fight!!” and performing our special and unique “French Wave”. Will be more then enough to let our Fighting French know we’ve got their backs!
