Team Profile

England are the third tournament winner from the series so far after defending their title in Dubai. That puts them fourth on the table on 47 points – just four points off joint leaders NZ and Fiji. They won in Wellington in 2009 with a heart stopping final and last minute try giving the English a 19-17 win over hosts New Zealand. Producing players like Ben Gollings, who is the all-time points leader on 2652 points in over a decade on the international stage, England have and will continue to shine on the sevens stage for years to come.

England's Cheerleaders

Between aisles 3 and 4 the 'English Roses - Sevens Posers' Cheerleaders will have you up in your seats supporting England each time the hit the field.

From midday Thursday 2nd February until 6pm Saturday 4th February you can text vote for your favourite cheerleader squad by texting* the name of the country they're supporting to 5678. E.g. ENG. The three squads with the most public votes are then judged and the winning squad takes home $7,000! Plus you go in the draw to win two tickets to the 2013 Hertz Sevens.

We are a bunch of Wellington-based girls, who love to look beautiful and brighten things up wherever we go and whatever we do. But we won't wilt under the heat of the Wellington Sevens - we come alive more than ever. When it comes to the Sevens rugby we all march in time to the same tune: England, England, England! We do it for the Queen, and for country, but mainly for FUN!
