The Cook Islands will return to the Hertz Sevens for the 12th time after qualifying from the Oceania Sevens in October. They came in 5th which was enough to keep previous entrants Niue and Papua New Guinea out of contention. The Cooks will face a tough pool in 2012 with South Africa, England and USA.

Between aisles 16 and 17 the 'The Cook Island 's Cheerleaders' will have you up in your seats supporting the Cook Islands each time the hit the field.
From midday Thursday 2nd February until 6pm Saturday 4th February you can text vote for your favourite cheerleader squad by texting* the name of the country they're supporting to 5678. E.g. COOK. The three squads with the most public votes are then judged and the winning squad takes home $7,000! Plus you go in the draw to win two tickets to the 2013 Hertz Sevens.

The Cook Island's Cheerleader team for the 2012 Wellington Sevens is made up of members from different backgrounds. This includes trickers, who do crazy flips, Cheerleaders, with their awesome supporting skills, a bgirl with attitude, and a dude who thinks he can shuffle. We hope that this year our exciting performance skills will help amp up the crowd, and get everyone behind the Cook Islands team.
